Identify individual students that have and have not made significant progress

Looking at students progress is an important strategy that teachers use to guide teaching practices.

Goal: To identify individual students that have or haven't made significant progress.

Here are the steps:

  1. Go to Reports/Quick and select Group Achievement Report.
  2. Select year, school, grade, class, and students you want to look at.
  3. Select data years you want to check for progress.
  4. Select course (e.g. NECAP) and subject (e.g. math). Only select one subject at a time.
  5. Select Unit Summary report.
  6. In report header where it says Add Compare, select to keep if criterion 1 raw score is within 5 of criterion 2 raw score. Note: in the NECAP, 5 points in the raw scale is considered statistically significant.
  7. Press Add Compare button.
  8. To see which individual students have not made significant progress, select reset in the Add Compare row.
  9. Change Keep to Hide in pop up menu next to Add Compare button.
  10. Press Add Compare button.
